Advocating for Victims of Crime

LKLP Community Action plays an important role in protecting the rights of those who have been impacted by crime. Through our Victims of Crime Assistance (VOCA) Program, we support and advocate for those dealing with the emotional and psychological consequences resulting from criminal acts.

A crime victim is any person who suffers direct or threatened physical, financial or emotional harm as a result of specific crime, which includes everything from domestic violence, elder abuse and sexual assault to human trafficking, harassment and more. Below are some of the free and confidential services VOCA can provide to those in need.

  • Individual, group and family counseling
  • Assistance with obtaining Protective Orders
  • Ongoing support navigating the criminal justice system
  • Information, resources and referral services
  • Immediate safety measures, including our Safe House
  • Assistance in applying for crime victim compensation benefits

VOCA has served as a lifeline to thousands of women, men and children over the years. We can help you too. If you or someone you know has been a victim of crime, contact an LKLP Victim Advocate today by calling 800-928-3131 or 606-439-1552.
