About Leslie County Outreach
The Leslie County Outreach Office located at the Leslie County Transit Facility, 121 Maple Street, Hyden, KY is part of the LKLP Community Action Council, Inc., Community Service Block Grant Program.
The Leslie County Outreach Office assists clients with the following services: Emergency Services, Self-Sufficiency, Employment, Education, Nutrition, Health, Housing, Linkages and Income Management.
Program Highlights
During the months of April and May 2008 C.S.B.G. OR Staff did three weatherization, five FHA 504 Housing & two FHA 502 applications, along with three KY Vision applications.
Also Staff has been busy with completing the Stimulus Payment Rebate Forms for Customers who had not filed, to date we have served four hundred and sixteen families.
With summer approaching several applications for Mission of Hope and Appalachia Service Project have been completed, the groups are a great help for families in our county that need home repairs. Also two wheel-chair ramps have been built from our special activity funds.
Staff are gearing up for the Aviation Museum of Kentucky which will be held July 24th & 25th at the Wendell H. Ford Regional Airport for seven students from Leslie County and the Outdoor Classroom Camp, which will be June 17th for 25 students from Leslie County, the camps are truly a learning and fun experience for the children that participant.
The 2008 Summer Feeding program begins June 2, 2008 in Leslie County, we have several local churches that want to participant for their Bible School programs, and currently accepting applications.
